Wonderful weekend...Wake up to reality!

Well, this is the last time my mommy will see me pregnant with Calem. We came to the realization that there is no way that she will be at the actual birth. After going to our last birthing class (mom and dad there) we realized that I will probably have a pretty short labor. That is if my labor goes anything like mom's and if my birthing coach is right about the last three couples she taught (they had a total of 3 hours in labor from beginning to end). So, I am going to call mom when I go into labor and she is going to catch the next flight out. She may make it in the next day or a couple of days later, but we know she won't be there.

Rob seems a bit anxious about taking on the job of my labor coach all by himself. He was stunned when we told him that mom wasn't going to be there. He immediately said, "how much will it cost to get Anna (our birthing coach) to come to the labor. After some deliberation on this subject, Rob and I feel that we are going to do this on our own. As privately as possible. We have agreed to call Anna if we feel we need some more support since she knows what we want in this birth. I was sad, but I feel empowered and excited about the labor day! I know I can do this and I can't wait to do it!
