March 15, 2006

Today was an extremely productive day in the Helmer family. After a sleepless night (for both Rob and I.....I think our bodies are preparing us in advance. We were wide awake at 3am), Rob left for work and I began the busy morning with Grandaddy Hutch and NaNa Rox. We sat and discussed life for about an hour over a nice cup of coffee (decaf for me). After that, we drove around the neighborhood and found many nice things in other people's garbage :)! Yes, we went dumpster diving. It was Rob's idea! He called us after he got to work and told us about a miniature basketball goal in somebody's trash. So, in route to the basketball goal, we saw many other things. After about 2 hours of dumpster diving, we drove home with a mini red picket fence we used as a headboard in Calem's room and a tricycle. FREE! This was way better than garage sale shopping. The high we got from digging in people's trash was way better than buying something for a quarter. So, stay tuned for pictures of Calem's room to see how the picket fence fits in.

Later, mom, dad and I worked hard to get everything in its place in preparation for our sweet bundle of joy. The room has come together very nicely. I really like the woodlands/hunting theme. Rob stained two birdhouses Olivia gave us and Dad put up the big stuff. Mom and I mainly bossed around Dad and Soon-to-be Dad and sucessfully finished before the birthing class at 6pm. Birthing class was interesting. Mom and Dad (Grandaddy and NaNa) were there and they got to see a couple of video clips of births. We discussed last minute concerns with our birthing coach and finished the last class. 5 more weeks! Can you believe it? No, neither can we. I am plan to enjoy everyday to its fullest. I love being pregnant, but I am so anxious to see Calem. Stay tuned for more pictures and blurbs from our corner of the world. Love and Take Care.
